The Antigua Classic Yacht Regatta hosts between 50 and 60 yachts every year and enjoys a wonderful variety of competitors, including traditional craft from the islands, classic ketches, sloops, schooners and yawls making the bulk of the fleet, together with the stunningly beautiful Spirit of Tradition yachts, J Class yachts and Tall Ships.
Every year Antigua Sailing Week features a Guadeloupe to Antigua Race on the Friday before the week’s racing begins, serving as a feeder race for boats coming from the islands to the south of Antigua. The 42-nautical mile race is open to boats of all types, whether or not entered in Antigua Sailing Week.
Organised by the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club in association with Antigua Sailing Week, the inaugural Antigua Bermuda Race will commence after the 50th edition of Antigua Sailing Week in early May 2017. The Antigua Bermuda Race is designed to offer an exciting passage race to Bermuda, the home of the 2017 America’s Cup.
